Understanding Guild Wars 2 better.

It’s been a while since I blogged, but I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. So much has been going on ingame and out of game. I’ve still been playing #FinalFantasyXIV , #GuildWars2 , along with #StarTrekOnline but as of late I’ve been a little more vested into GW2. Now you may ask yourself as to why, and here’s your answer. Alot of people underestimate Guild Wars 2, some say not enough content. Well, those people couldn’t be anymore wrong. Now you may ask, okay how so? Simple, what alot of people don’t understand is that Guild Wars 2 breaks the typical MMO aspect of bread-crumbing and questing. The game is a living breathing world that constantly has events going on 24/7.

Some players get into the game and ask, ‘What do I now?”, answer: level up, set goals. One of the biggest things is that the community is very helpful and with a dedicated wiki and multiple websites for guides including Dulfy. I’ll admit at first I got a bit frustrated of not knowing what to do or where to go. But with any game we all want to get the most out of it. And one nice little perk is the gold to gems. I have spoken with other #GW2 players and many of them have stated that really like the fact that they don’t have to pay for a subscription and they also like the fact that they can convert to buy things off the ingame store aka ‘Gem Store’. Even myself, I did get lucky and some ingame drops that I sold on the Trading Post and got nearly close to 1,000 gold and I converted what I needed to buy the Living World Season 2, part of the Season 3 and one episode I needed for Season 4. And Arenanet is always having sales going on so I took advantage of the sale so that I get some of the story content and lore.

I am very fotunate that I am in a Guild Called the ‘Wardens of Destiny’ aka WoD, the GuildMaster has been playing since the early Beta of the game. This GM is a wealth of knowledge about the game in all aspects, I honestly don’t think I would of lasted long playing this game if he didn’t help me understand the game and the lore. This is example of the community that is in GW2, I see people in general chat asking questions and getting guidance.

Just like other MMO’s there is a grind, but that’s what makes MMO’s different. As some veteran players have suggested in most MMO’s level up a class that you want to play, that looks and feels cool to you. And if you don’t like it, you have the option to just level up another but by leveling up the old fashion way you get a sense of feeling of the class. When I got started I thought that Druid was like a full on healing class, I was wrong. Druid is more like an advance class of Ranger and I went another way and went Soulbeast, another advance class of Ranger.

As I’ve stated in a previous post GW2 doesn’t have you typical tank, dps, healer trinity. It’s more a mix of everything all wrapped into one. The Core game of Guild Wars 2 is free, so go ahead and try it out. And you can get a bundle of Heart of Thorns/Path of Fire through my affiliate link which help to support me and my stream on Twitch and my blog. Hopefully I have shed some light and there are quite a few Content Creators for Guild Wars 2 out there, I just wanted to make sure that new players understand the game and have a better overall experience.

Stay tuned to The Balance Force.
